OBESITY

Obesity is a condition when the accumulated body fat creates a negative impact on a persons’s health. A person is said to be obese when the BMI is greater than 30.  A lot of factors act as causative agents, but, food and inactivity being the most important modifiable cause.

TIPS FOR FAT LOSS

*Increasing the amount of fruits and vegetables in the diet
*Avoiding heavy foods such as red meat, cheese, butter etc
*Reducing dietary fat intake
*Reducing the amount of salt intake as it promotes retention of water in body
*Intake of rice should be limited to once/day and in reduced quantity. Side dishes should include green leafy  vegetables and proteins
*Take fibre rich foods, fruits and vegetables
*Honey is a wonderful item for weight loss. Intake of honey with lime juice is suggested to be taken in the mornings  regularly
*Use of greentea is greatly beneficial in obesity
*Whole grains like whole wheat bread , brown rice, barley, oat bran and oats
*A variety of nuts can be included in the diet
*Avoid high calorie junk foods

Damage to the brain resulting in paralysis of any one side of body is called as Hemiplegia. Here, the motor centers of the brain are affected which results in loss of function of body.

AYURVEDIC PROSPECTIVE:

Hemiplegia is referred to as Pakshaaghaatha as per Ayurveda. Paksha means one half and aaghaatha means injury. Thus injury to one half of the body is called as pakshaaghaatha. It is a Vaatha vyadhi which is actually difficult to treat, but can be managed well by improving the quality of life of patient to a great extent.......
